As far as genius Australian beatmakers go it’s hard to look past the individual talents of Perth’s Ta-ku and Sydney-sider Flume who’ve been burning up ears around the country and then onwards across the globe with their stirring and original productions. So naturally you should have tears in your eyes at the thought of a meeting of these two minds. Find the intensely bouncy results below.
It was many moons ago that everyone grew tired of the Hype Machine popular charts becoming clogged up with remix after remix of ‘unconventional’ songs – need we revisit that Please Mr. Postman dubstep remix? But I can’t help but be charmed by what Sydney producer Altisko has done to Caring Is Creepy (yes, the Shins song). There’s some clever work behind the drum pad with skittering hats and thumping kicks and just an overwhelmingly bliss-y vibe. More songs on his Soundcloud and his Unearthed page.
Here’s a rather delicious pairing from two Sydney faithful with the Wordlife dudes on the track and the elusive Joyride doing his creamy vocal thing on top. If this doesn’t cement it for you that bouncy, soulful house is back then nothing will.
The brostests with the mostest Van She have at been revived from their studio hibernation with their first new offering in ages, Idea Of Happiness. The throbby synth line should please prog fans while the otherwise chirpy production just oozes good-time pop vibes. Get in.

Having built up a fierce reputation as a pusher of spectral electronic pop over the last year and a bit, 2012 looks to be the year that Elizabeth Rose really makes her mark. Her live show’s an unassumingly thumping affair, she’s getting backed by Inertia Access and now she’s deigned us with this new single ‘Ready’. Same intoxicating layered vocals with bubbling beats and fizzing electronics in the tightly packed production.

You might’ve tuned into Whyte Fang’s stuff when the Sydney producer popped up on blogs with ‘Thy New Sound’ and that Nelly Furtado cover but now she’s back with a good wad of new material for everyone to blush about. Hooking up with Australian indie dreamers The Grates, Whyte Fang reinvents some tracks from the Brisbane band’s ‘Secret Rituals’ LP, turning the tightly wound garage tunes into dark and stormy electronic gems. The Grates remixed has always felt a little prickly but this works scarily well with Patience Hodgson howling all manic over these deep, throbbing electro textures and icy synth stabs.
