Sorry overseas dudes again, here’s another local focused post. But this one is like, supremely important, you guys, because, at last, the bloggers bash is happening. Next Friday October 22nd at Sydney’s infamous Goodgod Small Club, myself, Whothehell, Electrorash, Stoney Roads, Disco Delicious and Roulade Unlimited will finally put on a club night.
Having discussed discussed discussed doing something like this over seemingly endless Gmail threads for ages now, it’s dope to at last be doing it. It’s called Dog House and it feature some of the blogosphere’s most loved artists including Sydney super-hunk Matt Van Schie, the esteemed synth-pop prodigies Ted & Francis and even Jonti Danimals will pop in and share his warped and wonderful vision with us all. You seriously have to come to this if you’re in, or remotely close to Sydney.
Better yet it’s a fundraiser for this independent theatre production, Anna Robi & The House of Dogs, which looks similarly off the hook. Being all clever and shit you can get in to Goodgod for just $5 if you dress all dog-like, $10 if you don’t. It’ll filled with epically good vibes and terminal tunes. Yeahhhhhhhhhh! The blogosphere had a little tizzy last week as Van She smoothie Matt Van Schie dropped the brand new Memory Tapes remix of Journey on our arses. Already the standout track from his Balmy Nights EP (which you can pick up here for a ridiculously cheap eight bucks), Journey is well deserving of the extra attention that it’s now getting.
That’s going to continue to flow with next weekend’s retail release of the Versions package, which features peeps like Diamond Cut, Memory Tapes, Hemingway and Danimals going to town on MVS tracks. Ahead of that, I’ve been hooked up with the Teenagersintokyo remix of Journey which takes the cruisy, synth jam into broody, echo-y territory. Awesome. The inter-band love-in won’t stop there, as Matt’s due to hit the UK in the coming weeks, playing shows with Teenagersintokyo drummer Rudy in his posse. The new songs he’s been playing live are even better than the ones on the EP if that’s possible, so defos check the show out if it’s near you. Watch out world!
