Having built up a fierce reputation as a pusher of spectral electronic pop over the last year and a bit, 2012 looks to be the year that Elizabeth Rose really makes her mark. Her live show’s an unassumingly thumping affair, she’s getting backed by Inertia Access and now she’s deigned us with this new single ‘Ready’. Same intoxicating layered vocals with bubbling beats and fizzing electronics in the tightly packed production.

Lodum (Rising), the newie tune from Sydney strangers Ghoul sounds like everything you already know and like about the band from the dark scattered percussion to the fuzzy edges of sound and singer Ivan’s magnificent croon. What’s not to like?
So Cut Off Your Hands are back and sounds a little more lush and subdued than we’re previously used to. There’s still that unmistakable energy there – the steady stamp of the snare drums ensure that – but it’s obviously been tempered by some honed focus on getting a really full, textured and delicious sound for their next LP. Bring that on, please!

It’s been two minutes since the last Midnight Juggernauts post here on Hyperbole, but damn it, here we are again, I just can’t stay away. Long running favourites of the blog community, the Juggernauts return with a brand new single and remix pack for single Lara Vs. The Savage Pack, which finds the band at their chug-rock best. The band’s Australian distro group Inertia teed up this remix from Kisses and it definitely hits the spot if you’re after some low-key synth fare. Grab the bonus Turkish Prison mix from Andy S too.
