Completely blown away by how enormous this song sounds. If John Ford was making westerns still this would be his go to cue for a blazing last stand of gunfire and grit.

This remix of Es Ist Super’s bouncy and bright single ‘Perfect Summer’ from fellow locals Brokers is likely the best thing to come out of Adelaide. No need to keep going with that sentence, even if Adelaide was the Metropolis of Australia this track would still be unsurpassed. Sax, beats and off-kilter production. Give these two groups the key to the city (when you get them back of Cher’s eBay account).

As far as genius Australian beatmakers go it’s hard to look past the individual talents of Perth’s Ta-ku and Sydney-sider Flume who’ve been burning up ears around the country and then onwards across the globe with their stirring and original productions. So naturally you should have tears in your eyes at the thought of a meeting of these two minds. Find the intensely bouncy results below.
C1 brings some smooth, melodic and modern beats to the table and Allday promptly crushes them on the bottom of a stubby before snorting the dust up his nose with a fiver. This is skewed, technicolour Australian rap. And it’s bloody brilliant.

Just the best rock song you’ll hear/you’ve heard in years.

It was many moons ago that everyone grew tired of the Hype Machine popular charts becoming clogged up with remix after remix of ‘unconventional’ songs – need we revisit that Please Mr. Postman dubstep remix? But I can’t help but be charmed by what Sydney producer Altisko has done to Caring Is Creepy (yes, the Shins song). There’s some clever work behind the drum pad with skittering hats and thumping kicks and just an overwhelmingly bliss-y vibe. More songs on his Soundcloud and his Unearthed page.
Sun-kissed, tropical indie pop is the order of the moment among Australian garage blokes but Gold Coast dwellers Oceanics put themselves a few cuts above the rest with their crystal vision for the warmest hooks and instantaneously hummable melodies. Lead single off their Bright People EP, Jukebox has been doing my head in with its cruisey charm and the addition of this Beach Boys cover certainly doesn’t hurt.
